• ՓՈԽ.-Ցոյները և ռումինացիք ունին ար-ցիվո՛ւրիօն (άρτζιβούριον), արցի՛վուրցի (άρτζίβουρτζι), արթէզֆօռթէզ ևն ձևով բա-ռեր, որոնք փոխառեալ և յարմարեալ են մեր Առաջաւորաց Պահոց անունից, որի վրայ այ-լակերպ առասպելներ են պատմում։ Առաս-պելի հնագոյն վիճակը գտնում ենք Ճառ ընդ-դէմ Հայոց խորագրով յունարէն ընդարձակ մի գրուածքի մէջ, որ վերագրւում է ԺԱ-ԺԲ դարից Սահակ անուն մի հայ կաթուղիկոսի, բայց հաւանօրէն Եւտեմիոսի (ԺԲ դարից) կամ Կալլիստոսի (ԺԴ դարից) խարդախու-թիւնն է (տպ. Migne, Patr. gr. հտ. 132)։ Այս Ճառի մէջ մի առանձին գլուխ կայ՝ որի վերնագիրն է Γερί τῆς σατανιϰῆς νηστείας τοῦ αρτζιβουρίον (Յաղագս դիւական պահոց արցիվուրի, Ա. գլ. ժդ)։ Ահա թէ ի՛նչ է պատմւում յիշեալ գլխում. «Սարգիս անու-նով մէկը, Հայոց մոլորութեան վարդապետ, մի շուն ունէր արցիվուր անունով։ Սակայն այս բառը նշանակում է «առջևից գնացող» (առաջաւոր)։ Սարգիսը սատանայի ազդեցու-թեամբ այս շունը գործ էր ածում իբրև իր ռաւստեան աւետաբեր և յայտարար, ամէն անգամ՝ երբ մի գիւղ, մի քաղաք կամ մի ուրիշ տեղ երթար, ուր իր մոլորութեան ժան-տախտից բռնուած աշակերտներ էին բնա-կում։ Երբ սրանք տեսնում էին շանը, յա-ջորդ օրը թափորով մի քանի մղոն տեղ ընդ առաջ էին գնում իրենց վարդապետին։ Մի անգամ՝ երբ շանը սովորական պաշտօնով մի տեղ ուղարկեց, գայլերը ճանապարհին պատառեցին նրան։ Սարգիսը երկրորդ օրը գնալով նոյն տեղը և տեսնելով որ ոչ ոք իրեն ընդ առաջ չի եկել, ինչպէս սովորութիւն էր, սաստիկ բարկացաւ։ Երբ քաղաք մտնելով ի-հասած, մարդիկ ուղարկեց փնտռելու համար և գտնուած ոսկորներից գուշակելով թէ գայ-լերն են կերել, հրամայեց ամենայն Հայոց՝ որ ամէն տարի, սահմանեալ օրեր, նրա մահուան համար ծոմ պահեն ու մեծ սուգ բռնեն. և այս պասը կոչեց արցիվուրց պաս»։-Նոյն առաս-պելը գտնում ենք նաև Աֆթիմիոս Սեկտատի-նոսի Զէն կատարեալ գրքում. Նիկեֆորոս Կալսթասի Պատմութեան և Աթէնքի Միլե-տիոս արքեպիսկոպոսի Եկեղեցական պատ-մութեան մէջ, որ Ջենատիոս Սքոլարիոս սար-կաւագի ձեռքով համառօտուելով տպուած է նախ Զմիւռնիա (1861) և յետոյ արաբերէն թարգմանութեամբ՝ Երուսաղէմ (1867), այն ժամանակի յունաց Երուսաղէմի պատրիարք Կիւրեղի հրամանով։ Սրա իններորդ գլխի թարգմանութիւնն ունի Երուսաղէմի Սիօն ամ-սագիրը (Չ տարի, 1871, մայիս, թիւ 5, էջ 100), ուր մեր բառը դարձել է յն. արթէզֆոո-թէզ կամ արթէզֆոռ։ Առասպելի մի ուրիշ ձևն ունին ռումինա-ցիք, որոնց մէջ բառը դարձել է արցիվուրցի։ Ռումին առասպելի մէջ արցիվուրցի է կոչւում մի հայ աւագերէցի շունը։ Աւագերէցը անտա-ռով անցնելիս մոլորուել և այդ շան միջոցով կարողացել է գտնել ճանապարհը։ Հայերը աւդ շունը սրբերի կարգն են դասել և ի պա-տիւ նրա՝ Ս. Սարգսի բարեկենդանին պաս են պահում և Զատկի թաթախման երեկոյին էլ նրան նուիրուած մի տօն են կատարում (տե՛ս Պ. քհ. Մամիկոնեան, Ռումանահայոց ներկան և ապագան, Կալաց 1895, էջ 44-45)։

I. 15։-Bugəe IF 1. 452 դնում է *sruad-ձևից. հմմտ. յն. ῥυας, -ἀδος «հոսուն». նշանակութեան տարբերութեան համար հմմտ. յն ῥόδην «հոսուն, առատ», ֆրանս. effusion de, cocur, հյ. առատութիւն սրտի. ըստ Bugge հյ. բառը հնապէս *առուատ ձևն ունէր։ Patrubány ՀԱ 1908. 213 հնխ. pro-մասնիկով da «տալ» ար-մատից։ Գաբրիէլեան ՀԱ 1910, 365 ա-ռու, լորդ, յն. լտ. ru, ruo «հոսիլ»։ Թի-րեաքեան, Արիահայ բռ. 61 առատա-նալ «գրգռուիլ» ջոկում է սոյն առատ «լորդ» արմատից և հանում ա բացա-սականով պհլ. rad «ազնիւ» բառից։

• ՀԲուս. § 168 ասում է. «Զարմանալի կամ հետաքննական բան մ'է, որ մեր ասորեկ կոչածը՝ Ափրիկեցիք ալ հիմայ ասուրիկ կոչեն, ըստ վկայութեան Ա-տանսոն բուսաբանի, որ շատ տարիներ կեցաւ ի Սենեկամպիա»։ Ֆերահեան, Բազմ. 1931, էջ 141-2 խօսելով բառիս վրայ, գտնում է, որ նոյն է լտ. eru-ca, ֆրանս. roquctte, իտալ. ruca, տճկ rokka salata, գւռ. ճարճիր, նարճրակ, արաբ. [other alphabet] ǰirǰir, ինչպես դրել եմ ես էլ։ Այս բոյսը շատ նման է կոտեմի և ջրկոտեմի, որի համար էլ երբեմն շփոթ-վում է նրանց հետ։ Բոլորովին տարբեր է գւռ. սորեկ, սորուկ «լտ. sorgham, sa-ricum» (տե՛ս իմ Գւռ. բառ.)։
