Riabinin, MSL, 10, 16 վրացի բառը կցում է պհլ. xod, xūd, զնդ. xaoδa, հպրս. xauda, պրս. xud «խոյր» բառերին, որոնք այստեղ մեզ հետ կապ չունին, ինչպէս կար-ծում է նաև Մառ, ЗВO, 9, 306։ Վերջինս վրաց. բառի հին ձևը համարում է *գուտ, որ դանում է հյ. գտակ <*գուտակ բառի մէջ։-Այս բոլորից դուրս ունինք նաև հյ. գուտի «դդակ, դլխարկ» ձևը, որ մէկ անգամ գտնում եմ գործածուած Հաւաքարանի մէջ անուանց կաթուղիկոսաց Աղթամարայ, տպ. էջմիածին. 1316, էջ 19 (տե՛ս իմ Հայ. նոր բառեր, հտ. Բ. էջ 140) և որ կենդանի է մինչև հիմայ Վա-նի ու Մոկաց բարբառում կուտիկ ձևով և նշա-նակում է «վարդապետի ու քահանայի գըլ-խարկ՝ սև բրդից հիւսուած. 2. գլուխը դնելու սաղաւարտ, գլխանոց», հմմտ. կոտիկ «չա-նաղ. 2. կանանց գլխակապի շրջանակը» ևն։
