How does artificial intelligence (AI) transform the digital world of libraries, archives and museums? (Tu l’avais traduis au passé volontairement ?) How can we embrace these changes and deploy these new technologies in the GLAM sector (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums)? The ai4lam community (artificial intelligence for libraries, archives and museums) is focused on this issue. The 3rd international ai4lam conference will take place at the national library of France (BnF) in Paris on December 9 & 10, 2021. The conference format will be hybrid: on-site / online.
The interventions will deal with various technologies including optical character recognition and handwritten text recognition (OCR/HTR), even for complex layouts (e.g. newspaper pages). It will also cover name entity recognition and automated documents classification. The legal and social aspects will also be discussed.
December 9, Calfa will take part to the round table about "Optical Layout Recognition / Optical Character Recognition / Handwritten Text Recognition" to present its expertise in processing Armenian, Syriac, Georgian or Arabic writings.
The conference will be held on Thursday 9 at the Bibliothèque nationale de France, both online and on-site. The registration is free and open to the public.
